Philip Anthony Schwartz, age 55 of Bridgewater passed away April 23, 2018. Born July 12, 1962 he was the only son of Maureen Crawford (nee Sabin) and the late Richard Schwartz. He was predeceased by step-father Ronald Gravell. He is survived by his three sisters, Kimberly Schwartz (Donnie), Pamela Hubley (Clay), Jennifer Shankle (Andrew), his uncle Ron “Gray” Sabin (Shea), nieces Anne Manuel (Ian), Kate, Libby and Brooke and nephews Shawn Welsh (Amanda), Nathen Purdy (Allie), Simon Purdy and Craig Hubley (Terri). Philip had no biological children of his own, however he loved and cherished many nieces and nephews, and stepchildren. He was a lover of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and 4-wheeling with friends. Philip wasn’t afraid to work hard and spent countless hours driving truck for GEs. His weekends would be spent in the yard gardening, cooking, and entertaining friends. He was known as Chef Flippy by many friends, and as Uncle Phuddy or “Phud” by his family. Philip loved fast cars and the dragstrip, and treated his 1986 Camaro IROC Z like a baby. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 1 at the Bridgewater Baptist Church, Glen Allan Dr. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. on April 30 at Sweeny’s Chapel, York St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
