McKEAN, R. Virginia

Virginia R. McKean, Age 89, of Pinehurst, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Born December 31, 1928 in Barss Corner, Lunenburg Co., she was the daughter of the late Leland and Grace (Eisner) Burns. Virginia had a great sense of humour and had a great love for her family and friends. She spent many hours volunteering at the New West Pine United Church and the Pinehurst Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed helping with community suppers and the church choir. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, David (Debbie) McKean; Michael (Darlene) McKean, all of Wentzell Lake; daughter, Patricia (Joe) Banks, Kingston; sister, Pearle Tufts, Bridgewater; brother, Donald (Liz) Burns, Liverpool; grandchildren, Jennifer McKean; Denise (Jason) Mitchell; Matthew (Kelly) Banks; Andrew (Hannah) McKean; Nichole (Ben) Garonce; great- grandchildren, Tia Demone, Cali Demone, Ewan McKean and Finlay McKean. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas McKean; brothers, Gerald, Lorimer, Herbert, Harold, Wesley; sisters, Marjorie Burns, Glenna Baker, Elsie Gilbert. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks to Dorothy DeLong. Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in New West Pine United Church, Pinehurst with Pastor Gary Carey. Burial followed in the Pinehurst Community Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Pastor Gary Carey, C.F. Sweeny’s Funeral Home in Bridgewater, West Northfield Fire Department, Pall Bearers (Peter McKean, Brian McKean, Geoffrey Chaisson, Andre Chaisson, Trevor Walters, and Eddie Walters), and the family, friends who provided food for the reception.
