FRELLICK, Mady Frances

2023-06-16

With eternal sadness and tears we would like to share the news that Mady has passed away after a short and brave battle with ovarian cancer. Mady died peacefully at home in the company of her loved ones and pets.

Mady is remembered by her community as a gentle and thoughtful soul, adventurous and daring in all she set out to do. She excelled at all she pursued and was an accomplished student, leader, musician, athlete, photographer, and a friend to many. Before cancer changed her life course, she had nearly completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Geography from Mount Allison University, while also pursuing photography and outdoor recreation on the side.

Mady is survived by her parents, Stephen Frellick, Heather Cameron; brother, Thomas Frellick; and many loving family members. She also will be remembered by uncountable friends and strangers who have been touched by her warm heart.

Mady's memory will live on through all the seeds she sowed, the songs she sang, the gardens she planted, and her wonderful colony of bees.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at South Shore Regional Hospital, especially the Emergency Department, Dr. Willows team at the Victoria General, and Dr. Ozas team at the Princess Margaret Hospital for their extraordinary determination and kind care of Mady during her difficult journey. The Palliative Care Team in Lunenburg, always there at every turn, were essential, without them we would have been lost. The Pharmacy team at Shoppers Drug Mart for their most excellent support. Lastly to all the VON and Palliative nurses who came each time they were called and made her/us feel supported, our utmost heartfelt thanks to each of you.

Mady's Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Central United Church, 136 Cumberland St., Lunenburg.

Those desiring to give donations in Mady’s memory may be made to The Lodge That Gives or to any other charity.
