ZINCK, Arthur Loran

2023-06-26

It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Loran Zinck, 74, of Bridgewater, announces his passing on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Arthur Loran and Etta (Tanner) Zinck.

Most of Arthur’s working career was as an electrician with Michelin in Bridgewater and after retirement he enjoyed working on projects, buying and selling boats and motors (he loved meeting people and talking), day trips, walking the beach and parks, and especially going to his camp. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, proud grandfather, uncle and a just wonderful man, proud and salt of the earth. He was kind, caring, helped anyone he could and instilled a good work ethic and provided guidance to a lot of people. He was his own man, a proud man who stood up strongly for his beliefs and for others regardless of the consequences. He tried to treat everyone equally.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; sons, Arthur (Krista) Zinck, Hammonds Plains and Nick Zinck of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Haylea and Brennyn; sisters, Eris and Geraldine; and brother, Jack, and five other siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Shirley and a brother, Clyde.

At Arthur’s request, cremation has taken place and a family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
