WAGNER, Maxwell “Max” Davis

1925-2018. October 10, 2018, Max passed after a lengthy illness at Extendicare, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Max was born in West LaHave, August 15, 1925, the son of the late Karl and Laura (Mullock) Wagner. After completing Fralic’s School Max’s first job was in Norman’s Restaurant, Halifax. In 1943 he enlisted in the RCAF, trained in Ontario and served in the UK and France during World War II. In 1946-47 Max attended Maritime Business College and moved to Toronto area and Niagara Falls. He married Nora Crocker in 1957. In later years Max was employed as sales coordinator at the Reid Milling Company, Streetsville, ON. He was active in the community and a member of fraternal organizations. Max and Nora visited Nova Scotia annually for years. Nora predeceased Max. He is survived by brother, Capt. Earle Wagner and sister, Annie (John) Bradley. He was predeceased by brothers, Capt. Moran (Faye), Karl Jr. (Edna) and sisters, Ferne (Arthur) Hillier and Barbara (Robert) Bedley. Also surviving are daughter in law Joan Zachary-Curtain (Maurice) and son-in-law, Kenneth Perry (Laurel), and extended family in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. The funeral was held October 15 at the Arthur Funeral Home, Sault Ste Marie, Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Cremation followed. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Pentz in 2019.
