WHYNOT, Melvin Owen


Age 89, of Lower Branch, Lunenburg County, passed away on July 29, 2018 in the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Ethel (Mailman) Mader and step-father, Harris Mader. Melvin lived in Lower Branch all of his life with the last 21 months at Ridgewood. He is survived by his half-brothers, Brenton (Betty) Mader and Gary (Shirley) Mader; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mona Whynot and Alice Mulock; half-brother, Merrill Whynot. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. By Melvin’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in Melvin’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association, South Shore Regional Hospital Palliative Care, St. James Lutheran Church or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
