It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Idella Marguerite Enslow, 84, of Blue Rocks, announces her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Bridgewater. Born in Blue Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Elsie (Knickle) Tanner. Catherine was a lifetime member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks where she was a choir member, treasurer of the Ladies Guild and supported the work of the church in any way she could. Taking an interest in her community she involved herself in earlier years in the hot lunch program at Centre Consolidated School and attending parent teacher events and volunteered her time at the canteen for minor hockey. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time around her home, working in the flower gardens, feeding the birds or going for a Sunday drive. Her family was the most important to her and cherished times with her children and especially her grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Catherine is survived by her daughters, Elaine Idella (Laith Al-Jumaily), Abu Dahabi, U.A.E., Ellen Himmelman, Bridgewater; son, Derrick (Dave Wentworth), Regina, Saskatchewan, brother, Paul Tanner (Marion Weagle), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Chad (Dawn), Halifax , Jake (Allie Bruhm), Blue Rocks; Adam, Santa Clara, California; great-grand-daughter, Ella. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Morris and an infant brother. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Highway 3, Lunenburg. A private family graveside committal was held at the Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be held at a later date at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, the Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, or to the Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
