After a full and long life the family of Cyril Earl Langille, 96 of Mason’s Beach Rd., First South, announces his passing on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Ryan Hall Enhanced Care, Bridgewater.

Born in his grandparent’s home on Mason’s Beach Rd., Cyril was the son of the late Russell and Hattie (Demone) Langille.

Cyril started his working career at the early age of 15 with the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering. He then went on to work for Highliner Foods for over 40 years until his retirement.

Cyril married the love of his life, Margaret, in 1947 and they were together for 72 years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with many interests that included deer and rabbit hunting with Margaret and his brother Walter and his love of both work and pleasure horses, which was evidenced by his attendance at many shows and competitions. He will also be remembered for his fondness of his many dogs over the years.

Cyril was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (2019), his older sister, Marie Brennan (2022), a younger brother, Walter Russell Langille (2017) and a younger brother, Cecil, who died in infancy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michelle Barrington and the staff of Ryan Hall for the care and compassion they have shown Cyril during his time at Ryan Hall.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. In keeping with Cyril’s wishes there is to be no visitation or memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First South Cemetery or to a charity of your choice. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
