BROOKS, Simon Alan Laurence

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Simon Alan Laurence Brooks, 75, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site in Halifax.

Born in Bournemouth, England, he was a son of the late Alan and Oenone (Patch) Brooks.

Simon was a respected psychiatrist who wrote a book on the subject. He enjoyed music, history, poetry, model building, reading, gardening, and sailing. He loved spending time swimming with his grandchildren.

Simon was a member of St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.

Simon is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, David, Thailand, Thomas (Arlene), Halifax, Matthew (Emily), Rochester, NY; sister, Therese Assouad, England; grandchildren, Leah, Claire, Anna, Elizabeth, Julia and Freya.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Simon’s life will be held at St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg on Thursday, September 28 at 2 p.m., Deacon Patrick Morris officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.
