It is with great sadness that the family of Emily Harriett Rose, 98, of Fauxburg, passed away, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. Born in Great Harbour, NF, on November 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie Bond.

Emily enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time at home with family, especially the quality times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, a game of bingo with friends and over the years was a member of Newfie Days and Bluenose Senior Citizens’ Club. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church and the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Mickie) Jensen, Fauxburg; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Rose, Northwest; son-in-law, Robert Gabriel, Stephenville, Nfld.; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse “Norman” daughters, Margaret (Heber) Tibbo and Barbara Gabriel; son, Gordon and son-in-law, Capt. Allan Jensen and a brother, Freeman Bond.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mahone Nursing Home or to St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
