Clyde Mervin Browne, age 95, of Mahone Bay, passed away January 17, 2018 in South Shore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family whom he loved dearly. Born November 21, 1922 in Milton, he was a son of the late George Browne and Bessie (Fraser) Browne. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline (Baker). He is survived by his children, Allan (Bobbi) Browne of Moncton; Suzanne (Bobby) Hyson of Indian Point; Dale (Janet) Browne of Mahone Bay; Darlene (Rickey) Hirtle of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Jared (Nova) Browne of Oshawa; Andrew (Jana) Browne of Grande Prairie; Amy Hirtle of Halifax; Chad (Arwen) Hirtle of Gleichen; Dwayne “Bub” Browne (Kiana Wile) of Mahone Bay. He is also survived by six great grandchildren whom he adored along with friends, Wynn, Dave, and Brenda, who held a special place in his heart. He worked for Nova Scotia Power for 44 years and cherished his time spent at Camp with family and friends. He was a true gentleman and an outdoors man who told many stories throughout his lifetime. Mahone Bay has truly lost a treasure. Visitations will be held Monday, January 22 from 7-9 p.m., at Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 23 at the United Baptist Church in Mahone Bay. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the IWK Health Centre Foundation or a charity of your choice.
