TUFTS, Albert Lloyd

Age 67, of Simpson’s Corner. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing, after a long battle with cancer, at South Shore Regional Hospital on September 16, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born on December 9, 1950, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Hyson) Tufts. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. To have known him was something special. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Edna May Tufts, Simpsons Corner; daughters Susie Tufts , Wileville; Peggy Tufts, East Clifford; Brenda (William) Simpson, Hemford; son Lloyd (Shauna) Tufts, Simpsons Corner; grand-daughters Anne and Julia; sister Judith (Michael) Joudrey, Bakers Settlement; half-sister Sheena (Chris) Cross, England; brothers Allen (Ravenna) Tufts, West Dublin; Alden (Sharon) Tufts, Newcombville; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by sisters Daisy Conrad, Thelma Wile and Mildred Langille; brothers Alfred and Burlin Tufts; half brother Stephen Maden; and three siblings in infancy. Known to many as “Abbie”, he was a hard-working man doing many jobs logging, fixing small engines, Lunenburg Fish Plant, Cameron Construction, Bill Lynch and Calvin Snyder. He finally found a life long career and home at Mosher Motors Ford, working as a mechanic for 40 years. He could fix anything, all he needed was a wrench. He was a “live every moment and have a good time” kind of man. His famous saying was “Let’s go on tour. AIIIEEE!!” He could often be heard singing a tune (with his own words in place of the real ones), playing cards at the kitchen table, and was a great dance partner. He was a man with a huge heart and it was often “Abbie” to the rescue. Visitation and service will be held a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of C.F.
