WALLIS, Joan Kathleen

Age 101, died August 19, 2019 at Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown, NS. Born in Lancashire, UK, to Joseph W. and Beatrice Dandy November 19, 1917. Loving wife, dedicated mother, proud grandmother, aunt, teacher, writer, artist and an avid reader of authors from ancient cultures to mythology to modern biographies. She loved life and learning. Predeceased by her parents, her four siblings, her love and partner, Douglas L. Wallis, her youngest son, Jonathan Wallis, and son-in-law, Ronald Hawkins. Her sharp wit and boundless energy will be missed by all who survived her, including children, Susan Hawkins, Barbara Cullen (John), Keith Wallis (Elaine); grandsons, David Cullen, Peter Cullen (Shelley), Michael Cullen (MarLee), Joseph Cullen (Mareike); previous son-in-law Robert Tiarks; many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
