Lillian T. Rowell passed away March 12, 2018 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, Scotia, New York. She was the only child of the late Herbert C. Thrasher of Taunton, Massachusetts and the late Letitia B. Coolen of Fox Point, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Lillian was born on August 11, 1914 in Fox Point, which she always regarded as home. Lillian was a 1936 graduate of Acadia University. Her husband who predeceased her was George P. Rowell of North Situate Rhode Island. George and Lillian are survived by their three children, Payson (Yvonne) of Fox Point, NS and Moncton, NB; Caroline Lucas of Lower Branch, Lunenburg County, NS; and Chandler (Carol) of Niskayuna, New York; grandchildren Alexandra (Travis) Wilson, Lower Branch, NS; Johanna (Michael) Jurewitz of Boulder Creek, California; Julia Eshpeter (Leo) of Moncton, NB; Elizabeth Brouse (Kirk) of Oakville, ON; and Margaret and Genevieve Rowell of Niskayuna, NY; and great grandchildren Sarah and Warren Eshpeter, Claire and Wesley Brouse, Aurora and Howard Jurewitz and Lucas Wilson. She was predeceased by son-in-law, Dean Lucas. In their retirement, Lillian and George resided half the year in Fox Point and half in Attleboro, Massachusetts where Lillian had been a kindergarten teacher and a children’s librarian at the Attleboro Public Library. In retirement, she documented the genealogy of the original Fox Point families. Lillian donated her remains to the Albany Medical Center Anatomical Gift Program. A celebration of her life will be held at her Fox Point home, date to be announced.
