PITTMAN, Patrick A.

2020-01-08

66 of Bridgewater, passed away January 8, 2020 in SSRH, after a brief illness. Born May 31, 1953 in Point Au Gaul, NL, he was a fisherman for 50 years until his death. He fished aboard the Atlantic Destiny. Patrick was very proud of his roots. Nobody was a stranger, especially if he heard a Newfoundland accent, then came, “What part of Newfoundland you come from?”. He loved to make people laugh, he was a kind, caring man. Pat was a diehard Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan; win or lose, no-one could say anything about them. He had a chance to go to Toronto to see his team win. He enjoyed many other trips. He leaves behind his fur-babies Allie and Buddy. Patrick will be greatly missed by his loving wife Marlene; daughter Tonya (NL); Marlene’s children, whom he loved as his own, Dwayne (Janice), James, Janette; grandchildren Devin, Dylan (Vanessa) April (Lance), Chris (Jessica), Blair (Laura), Tiffany (Ainsley); great-grandchildren Gracie Dawn (“Poppy’s Girl”), Tessa, Bella, Alexis, Olivia and Daniel; also his best friend in this world, Donnie Short, who was more like a brother, and his wife Louanne; siblings Madonna (Lons) Hayes, Mary Celeste (“Sis”), Phil Sheppard, Maurice and Freda Pittman, Alice Strang, Betty Murphy (Clayton), Rebecca King (Max), Martin (“Sis”) Pittman, Richard and Patsy Pittman, Elsie Murphy, all in NL; many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Hubert and Elizabeth; daughter Sonya; brother Leonard; brother-in-law, Albert. Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. As per Pat’s wishes, there will be no service at this time but at a later date he will return to NL. In memory of Patrick, just do a kind act for a stranger, make someone laugh, or hug a friend. Just keep love going.
