BAKER, Garnice Sarah Louise

Age 86, of Martin’s Brook, passed away on February 28, 2019 at home after a brief illness. Born in Blockhouse on July 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Uriel and Annie (Berringer) Ernst. She was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, having been a devoted member of the choir for 70 years. She was an active member of the Blockhouse ACW for many years. When she was younger, she enjoyed helping out with the Church Boys League. Mom enjoyed getting out around people, attending music jams and card parties in the area. She also enjoyed knitting and making crafts, especially Christmas tree ornaments. She was very devoted to her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kerry Lynn, in infancy. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Douglas Baker, as well as sons, Kevin Baker and David Baker, Martin’s Brook; Darryl Baker, Liverpool; brother, Lloyd (Melba) Ernst, Oakhill; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Father Chad McCharles officiated. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Martin’s Brook Cemetery Assn. or a charity of your choice.
