TANNER, Ruby Marguerite

It is great sadness that the family of Ruby Marguerite Tanner, 83 of Lunenburg announces her passing on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Little Tancook Island, she was the daughter of the late William and Katie (Baker) Levy. In her earlier years, Ruby worked at Kinley’s Drug Store and later years at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Ruby was a quiet person who enjoyed spending time at home with family and friends and she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Susan (Danny) Taylor, Kingston; sons, William Tanner, Northwest and Derrick Tanner of Lunenburg, grandchildren, Craig, Brittany and Kyle and great grandchildren, Lahna, Letty and Ivy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray; sisters, Dorothy, Mae, Mabel, Hilda, Melita and Louisa and brothers, Raymond, Benjamin, Russell, Jessen and Reginald. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
