LAIRD, Joseph Buchanan

Age 84, Bridgewater, NS. Passed away September 25, 2023, at South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (McMorrow) Laird.

Dad always had a sense of adventure and loved to be on the water kayaking, boating, and fishing. He enjoyed educating people about the flora and fauna around them when he took them kayaking. Dad also enjoyed hunting and fishing with the “gang” and many adventures were had during those trips.

Surviving are his children Jacqueline (Lorraine) Wile, Brian (Pam) Laird, Paul (Jennifer) Laird; grandchildren Ian (Michelle), Holly (Chet), Umeko (Chris), Logan and Mason Laird; great-grandchildren Thea and Sophia; sister Jean Scarlett, Mull, Scotland; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation, service or interment by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. A celebration of life will be held 12 to 2:30 p.m., on October 25, 2023, in the Michelin Social Club, 221 Logan Road, Bridgewater. Interment will be held at a later date.
