TANNER, Gary Geoffrey

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Geoffrey Tanner, 75, of First South, announce his passing on Friday, November 10, 2023, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of Claire Jane (Zinck) Tanner of First South and the late Carl Milton Tanner.

A fisherman all of his working life, Gary loved being out in the ocean on his boat, The Classy Lady. Recently retired from fishing, he also served with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary for 35 years. A friend to all animals, he enjoyed his flower and vegetable gardens and getting out in the woods.

Gary is survived by his wife Carolyn; son, Kevin (Melissa), Halifax; mother, Claire Jane (Zinck) Tanner, First South and a brother, Brian (Carolyn Faye), First South.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service was held on Monday, November 20, 2023.
