HENNIGAR, John Earl

2021-04-01

With love in our hearts for a wonderful and loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle, we the family of the late John Hennigar, 85, announce his passing on April 1, 2021 after a brief stay at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. He was born to parents, the late Clarence and Jessie Hennigar, on the family homestead where he lived his entire life.

His guidance was loving and freely given to his Church family of St. John's Anglican, now known as Grace Anglican of Chester Basin, while being warden for 20 years.

John's life was filled with many social activities; week end farmers' markets, music jams, gathering with his family, community meals, community fairs and great visits with neighbours. Meeting and enjoying the company of his friends, especially at the "Tim's Corral" in the Bridgewater Mall after his visit to the "Y", which he did three times a week, were times he treasured. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family; brother Harold (Faye); sister Beatrice (deceased); nieces Allison (Peter), Corinne (Hector), Sharon (Darren); nephew Walter (Ronnie Dawn); cousins and friends, no matter what the occasion. He so enjoyed people. His great nieces and nephew, Danielle, Chantelle, Lily, Samantha, Rebecca, and Malcolm, will hold in their hearts the joy they felt when their Uncle John was at these family occasions.

John retired from what was then known as The Department of Highways and Transportation, where he worked as survey crew assistant and asphalt inspector.

Honoring John's wishes for a summer, church funeral, the family has planned a service to be held on August 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. in Grace Anglican Church, 5533 Highway 3, Chester Basin. Burial to follow at Basin View Cemetery (Old Cemetery), Borgels Point Rd., Chester Basin.

Donations in John's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. While his passing has left us with lovely and cherished memories, we are already missing him in our lives.
