MILLER, Gordon

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Gordon Gilbert Miller, 90, of Bridgewater, on August 21, 2023. Gordon passed peacefully with family by his side at South Shore Regional Hospital.

Gordon was born in Lunenburg on February 3, 1933, and was the youngest son of George and Clara Miller. He attended Lunenburg Academy and then joined the Royal Bank of Canada in Lunenburg. He worked in various roles and was a successful manager for most of his career in many different branches in Nova Scotia and PEI. He was a member of numerous service clubs and was presented the honor of Serving Brother of the Order of St John by the Governor General of Canada. He was also President and Honorary Life Member of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid curler and golfer for many years.

Gordon was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Falkenham), Bridgewater; son, Greg (Glenda), Coldbrook; daughter, Sue, Bridgewater; son, Chris, Ottawa. Also, grandchildren, Kirsten, Zack, Jacinda, Nick and great grandchildren, Daevon, Darius, Henry and Margaret and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his grand dogs Beanie, Bria, Madie and Jayd.

He will also be missed by close family friend Don Bondy, Digby.

Gordon was predeceased by parents, George and Clara; sister, Peggy Forrest; brother, Carl.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Diane Edmonds, Dr. Heather Robertson and the staff of the 4th Floor Medical Unit at South Shore Regional Hospital.

Funeral will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
