It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Leslie Murray Ritcey, at home, with his wife Joyce at his side. After battling several health issues he is at peace and no longer in constant pain. Leslie is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Joyce (Corkum); daughters Pamela (Jim), Toronto, ON; Heather (Victor), Bridgewater; grandsons Craig, Halifax; Ryan (Stephanie), Bridgewater; Adam (Karen) New Canada, and Jared (Brittany), Pine Grove, and his precious great-grandchildren who gave him so much joy in his last years, Tyler Keizer, Camilla Cook and Colton Whynot; brothers Delma (Janet), Bridgewater and Edwin (Vivian), Edmonton, AB. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Doris, and brothers Stuart, Harold, Henry Jr., Maxwell, Daniel, sons Dale and Todd; a daughter at birth. Leslie was born on January 21, 1934, the second son of Henry and Doris (Corkum) Ritcey in East Lahave. He started his career at a young age at sea on the lake boats and the gypsum boats, He went on to a successful sales career, starting briefly in Fuller Brush sales then onto a 35-year career with Prudential of America, followed by Standard Life, where he received numerous awards and trips recognizing his success. Leslie married Joyce Corkum June 11, 1954. They enjoyed many adventures over the years with family and friends through cottaging, boating, and in their retirement years traveling with their motor home through the US and Mexico. Always remaining humble and never realizing the extent of his success. He will be fondly remembered for his determination and pursuit of perfection. Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, in West Side United Church, Pentz, with a reception for family and friends immediately following the service in the church hall. Private family burial was held in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Conquerall Bank. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital, West Side United Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements were under the direction of R.A.
