HIRTLE, Walter Hamilton

Age 84 of Mahone Bay, passed away in Ryan Hall (Shannex) on Saturday, November 24, 2018 with family by his side. Born in Mahone Bay, he was a son of Alexander and Dorothy (Mosher) Hirtle. He worked for McVay Paceship and Highliner Foods as a supervisor until his retirement. He was an Honorary member of the Mahone Bay Fire Department where he also served as Treasurer. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Hal); son, Kevin; grandchildren, Cody (Tiffany Dawn), Tiffany (Ryan); and great grandchildren, Athen and Nevaeh; brother, Donald; sister, Anne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Shirley Viola (Robar) (March 10, 2001); brothers, Alexander "Buddy", Gilbert; and sisters, Shirley, Edith and Leila. The family would like to thank the staff at Ryan Hall and Queens Manor, Liverpool for their care, kindness and compassion over the past two and a half years; we will be forever grateful. Family internment will beheld at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater where Mom and Dad will be laid to rest together as per their wish.
