Woman charged following Liverpool stabbing

A 32-year-old woman is facing several charges following a stabbing incident in Liverpool.

"Prior to 12:30 a.m. Friday morning, Queens District RCMP responded to a 911 call of a man having been stabbed at a home on Church St. in Liverpool," police said in a news release. The woman, who police have not identified, was taken into custody without incident at a nearby home.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, was taken to the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman remains in custody and is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court Aug. 13.

"Queens District RCMP continues to investigate, with assistance from the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Shelburne RCMP, and the Shelburne and Yarmouth Street Crime Enforcement Units," the news release said.
