CHILE – Sarah Mitton earns gold.

The 27-year-old earned a gold medal Nov. 2 at the Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile.

Her top throw was a 19.19 metre toss to claim her first Pan American medal. Her only other time competing at the Pan Am Games was in Peru in 2019 where she finished in sixth place with a best throw of 17.62 metres.

This comes at the end of a long, successful outdoor season for Mitton, who also earned a gold medal at Canadian Track and Field Championships, her first Diamond League gold medal in June and two silver medals at the Diamond League Finals and World Athletic Championships.

November is normally the off-season for the thrower, who last competed at the Diamond League finals in September.
