RCMP charge Greenfield woman over New Year’s party

A 25-year-old woman will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court March 5, after she was charged under the Health Protection Act for hosting more than 10 people at a New Year's Eve party.

The charge carries a fine of $1,000 after conviction.

Members of the Queens District RCMP responded to a call just past midnight January 1,of a large gathering at a location on Medway River Road in Greenfield.

The RCMP did not release the total number of people at the gathering.

Since the pandemic began, RCMP have recorded 322 charges in Nova Scotia under the Health Protection and Emergency Measures Act.
