Lunenburg RCMP arrest man after Blockhouse weapons call

Lunenburg District RCMP arrested a man November 8 after responding to a report of a man pointing a firearm at someone in residence in Blockhouse.

Police responded to the call at 11 p.m. and successfully negotiated with the man to exit the residence and arrested him without incident. Numerous weapons were also seized from the home. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident and the individuals were known to each other.

A 19-year-old man from Blockhouse was released from custody on conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on January 22, 2020. He is facing charges of careless use of a firearm; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; unauthorized possession of a weapon; possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized; and uttering threats.

The investigation is ongoing.
