MILL VILLAGE – Who is the smartest of them all?

The Mill Village Fire Department (MVFD) has reeled out a challenge to find out what fire department contains the the smartest firefighters anywhere.

If you think you do, this is your chance to prove it. The MVFD Ways and Means Committee is hosting a trivia night, which is also open to the public, Jan. 28 at the fire hall and they are challenging the best and the brightest to take up the challenge.

There will be some great prizes to be won and of course, bragging rights.

The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and the cost is $5 per person or $20 for a team of four. You can pre-register by calling Jennifer Green at 902-529-0518 or by sending an email to: mvfdpublicrelations2022@gmail.com.

This trivia night is the first of monthly events that are being organized by the committee, consisting of Green, Michael Morton and Rob Ross, to not only help raise funds, but...

"We thought we would try and bring some fun back into the community," said Green. "With COVID-19 we were just doing bare minimum and have not been necessarily involving the community. We want to bring the fun back into our fire department."

Any money realized will go towards updating firefighters' gear.

The idea began as a trivia night just open to the public, but Green said her husband, Michael, came up with the idea to also send out a challenge to fire departments.

"We are challenging people to register as a team with their department and come on out," she said.

All fire departments within the province are invited to compete.
