Bridgewater Police respond to firearms complaint, arrest one

An adult male is facing several charges after Bridgewater Police Service responded to a firearms complain on Scotia Street in Bridgewater on August 20.

A witness reported to police that a firearm was unsafely transported and left in a yard. Upon arrival, members contained a residence and secured the area. Five adult males and one adult female were located in the residence.

Further investigation revealed the firearm to be an air rifle. One adult male is facing charges of breaching a court order and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

The Bridgewater Police Service wishes to thank the public for the cooperation and wishes to remind them that police will treat any firearms complaint as real until they can determine it is safe and secure.
